Get Ready to Crush the Cisco CCNA R/S 200-125 Exam
The Cisco Certified Network Associate in Routing and Switching (CCNA R/S) certification is one of the most popular certifications in the IT industry. Attainment of this certification not only lets hiring managers know that you’re comfortable working with Cisco routers and switches, but it also enhances and updates your current skill set.
Interestingly, there are two ways to earn your CCNA R/S certification: (1) Pass two individual exams (the CCENT 100-105 and ICND2 200-105 exams) or (2) Pass one composite exam (the CCNA R/S 200-125 exam). This course prepares you for whichever approach (i.e. the one exam or two exam approach) you choose.

- Select appropriate services for a given network design scenario (e.g. DHCP, HSRP, NAT, NTP, and QoS).
- Protect your routers and switches from attack using a collection of security features (e.g. port security, 802.1x, and ACLs).
- Manage your network by leveraging network management protocols and services (e.g. CDP, LLDP, Syslog, SNMP, and Cisco IP SLA).
- Describe how Software Defined Networking (SDN) is causing a major shift in the IT industry and how Cisco’s APIC-EM SDN controller can be used to manage multiple network devices from a single point of administration.

About your instructor
Kevin Wallace, CCIEx2 No. 7945 (Collaboration and Route/Switch), is a Cisco Certified Systems Instructor (CCSI No. 20061), and he has earned multiple Cisco professional and associate-level certifications in the Route/Switch, Collaboration, Security, Design, and Data Center tracks. With Cisco experience dating back to 1989, Kevin has been a Network Design Specialist for the Walt Disney World Resort, an instructor of Cisco courses for Cisco Learning Partners (CLPs), and a Network Manager for Eastern Kentucky University. Currently, Kevin produces video courses and writes books for Cisco Press/Pearson IT Certification (http://kwtrain.com/books). Also, he owns and operates Kevin Wallace Training, LLC (http://kwtrain.com), a provider of self-paced training materials that simplify networking topics. Segment 1: Fundamentals of Networking (2hrs)
- Instructor will discuss network components, cloud resources, network cabling, basic troubleshooting, and IPv4/IPv6 addressing.
- Attendees will participate in in-class IP addressing exercises.
Segment 2: LAN Switching (2hrs)
- Instructor will demonstrate the configuration of various features on Cisco Catalyst switches.
- Attendees will participate in an in-class Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) exercise.
Segment 3: IP Routing (3hrs)
- Instructor will demonstrate the configuration of various features on Cisco routers.
- Instructor will demonstrate the configuration of the RIPv2, OSPF, and EIGRP routing protocols.
Segment 4: Wide Area Networks (WANs) (1hr)
- Instructor will contrast various options for WAN connectivity.
- Attendees will understand how to perform a basic BGP configuration.
Segment 5: Network Services (2hrs)
- Instructor will contrast various network services, including: DHCP, HSRP, NAT, and NTP
- Attendees will be able select appropriate quality of service (QoS) tools for a given design scenario.
Segment 6: Securing Network Devices (2hrs)
- Instructor will contrast various approaches to securing a network.
- Attendees will be able to configure access control lists (ACLs) to prevent unwanted traffic from entering a network.
Segment 7: Network Management (3.5hrs)
- Instructor will explain the operation of a variety of network management protocols, including: CDP, LLDP, Syslog, SNMP, and Cisco IP SLA.
- Attendees will understand the boot sequence of a Cisco router and be able to recover a lost router password.
- Attendees will be able to troubleshoot common network issues, using tools such as: Ping, Traceroute, and Local SPAN.
- The instructor will introduce the concept of Software Defined Networking (SDN), along with a description of various SDN solutions available from Cisco.
Segment 8: Final Preparation (30mins)
- Instructor will explain the procedure of registering for a Cisco certification exam.
- Attendees will be equipped with study strategies and a collection of best practice recommendations for their exam day.
